Serum Carbamazepine Level of Six Months Seizure Free Patients After Single Carbamazepine Treatment

Abstract

Background & Objectives:
@EN There have been many studies about the effect of antiepileptic drugs but study for therapeutic range of antiepileptic drugs is not sufficient. So we performed the study to determine the therapeutic range of antiepileptic drug for our native
patients.
@ES Methods:
@EN We collected 31 epilepsy patients who had been free from seizure attack for at least six months after single carbamazepine treatment and measured the ranges and average of there serum carbamazepine levels each patients.
@ES Resuts:
@EN In 31 patients who had been free from seizure attack,. The range and average of serum cardamazepine levels were 2.3 g/ml to 13.0 g/ml and 8.3 g/ml, respectively.
@ES Conclusions:
@EN The therapeutic range of serum carbamazepine level in our study wassimilar with those of previous studies.
